Challenge Week..

We decided to have “challenge week” this week. These means that someone in the apartment attempts to complete a challenge successfully, within the allotted time. of course me being the chicken that I am, I had no part in this! LOL.. but Krissi however, did the saltine challenge, and Sam did the cinnamon challenge. Watching these two challenges were so funny! Krissi and I were extremely bored one night, so she found this on the internet. You have to eat 6 saltine crackers in 60 seconds! Oh my God.. this was so insane! Half way through, she started coughing and needed a drink because he mouth was so dry from all the salt. I laughed and told her to man up! Hahaha... she wasn’t choking or anything, so it was okay. She came so close to successfully finishing it. However, she couldn’t finish the fifth cracker in time.
Sam was brave enough to join in, and do the cinnamon challenge. She is crazy for trying this! It looked so much worse than the saltine challenge. The rules are, you have to eat one spoonful of cinnamon. Without the aid of water! Sam tried to get it all down, but she could quite manage to do it. She started coughing and had this horrible look on her face, but didn’t want to give up. She is a trooper! LOL.. after she did it, she said that it was like eating sand. Her throat burned a little and she chugged a bottle of water! These two are bold. They said they were going to get me to do a challenge, but I highly doubt that!!

Prank Wars..

Talk about a mess! This had to have been one of the most fun weeks at school. We had prank wars in my apartment. It all started with cupcakes. I baked cupcakes for my roommates and things kinda got out of control. Krissi was in the kitchen helping me make the cupcakes. She was mixing the batter when all of a sudden, some jumped out of the bowl, and onto my arm. She knew it was on from there! When she wasn’t looking, I took a spoonful of batter and somehow managed to throw it on her nose! After much fighting, cake batter was everywhere. The cupboards, the fridge, the floor, and the sink, all covered in chocolate batter. This was the start of the craziest week ever.
The following day, Krissi told me that I should sleep with one eye open since I covered her face in chocolate the night before! LOL.. So Sam and I went shopping that day, and when we came home, all havoc broke loose. Krissi wrapped all my belongings in aluminum foil! From my lamp to my bed frame, it was all covered in shiny foil. Payback was most definitely coming her way. The next day while she was at class, I covered her side of the room with toilet paper. I asked her roommate Courtney to help, but she said no way. At the fear of pranks being pulled on her, she didn’t want to get involved. I told her that was a wise decision. LOL.. When Krissi came back, and saw her room like that, she plotted for something even more serious. The next day, I came back to find my comforter and pillows on my bed frame. Without a mattress on it! She took my mattress off my bed and put it the storage space we have in our apartment! The war is still going on, so we shall see what I come up with for next week!

About Time..

This past week, the girls and I decided that after 9 weeks of living in a colorless apartment, it was time to decorate! Krissi came up with the idea of tie-dye coffee filters on the wall. This was an all day event! We bought 200 hundred coffee filters, and food coloring. We sat, folded, and dipped all day. The colors and patterns were so cool. No two coffee filters came out looking the same. We mixed colors and came up with so many different ways of how to fold them. After they were dry, we taped them to the wall in our living room. We found posters of our favorite bands and singers, and put those on the wall as well. All the colors go together beautifully. Our living room isn’t so plain and boring anymore.
On the window, we put up Thanksgiving decorations. We put posters in our kitchen and in the hallway of the bathroom. Better late than never, we always say.. so we’re happy that we finally took the time to put up decorations and not live in a colorless place. LOL..
Sam and I are trying to find the time to do arts and crafts. We thought it would be cute to make frames and plaques for the apartment. We figured we can put pictures of all of us in them and write different things on the plaques. Our apartment still needs some décor, so this would be a good start. Who knows what ideas we’ll come up with next..

Amazing Meals..

This past week was great. My roommates and I decided that we need to do more things together, in order to not be so serious and stressed out because of school. We decided that each of us should cook a different night of the week. On Monday, Courtney taught us how to make homemade empanadas, and fried plantains. Making this meal was such a process! You have to season and cook the ground meat, stuff it in the tortilla, and then fry it. The plantains were easier to make, because all you had to do was throw some oil in a pan and let them cook. We also made rice and beans to go with this meal. It turned out delicious! On Wednesday, Krissi made stir fry. Ah that was amazing! She had peppers, brown rice, broccoli, beef, carrots, and a few other vegetables in it. It was all mixed with some great “secret sauce” recipe that her mom gave her.
On Friday, Sam made chicken with cream of mushroom soup on top. This meal was great! It was also quick and easy to make. She fried the chicken breasts, heated up the soup, and just poured it on top. Yumm! On Sunday, I decided to make Indian food for everyone. I made white rice and tandoori chicken. The rice was not hard to make at all. The chicken however, took a lot of work. Making the marinade for the chicken took about 20 minutes alone! It then had to sit in it for about 3 hours. I had to call my mom about 4 times, just to make sure that I did everything the way she does! LOL.. it turned out tasting great. My roommates now love Indian food. Well, that dish anyway. We feasted last week. Hmm.. I think every week should be like that!

There It Is!

This past week, the girls and I were all in the apartment hanging out. Krissi and I were in the living room doing homework, when all of a sudden, she screamed bloody murder! Sam and Courtney both ran out of their rooms asking what happened?! Before Krissi could even answer the question, she darted from the couch to on top of our dinning table! I was sitting there doing my homework, and the next thing I knew, she was sitting on top of it! LOL.. “Cockroach! Cockroach!” she screamed. “It crawled right past my foot!” All of us started to panic, and looked for the insect that was supposedly a huge cockroach. Ick! A second later, Sam saw it crawling under the couch! "There it is!" she said. Turns out it was only a cricket.. but it was a huge one!
Courtney got the bug spray and sprayed it till it was “dead.” She asked me to pick it up using a paper towel… and like a fool, I agreed. As I bent down to pick it up, it jerked and I screamed crazy loud! I dropped the napkin and found myself up on the table right next to Krissi! Courtney and Sam laughed at us and then finally got rid of it. It took a while before we got off the table. We had Courtney check the living room to make sure that no more bugs were lurking. We absolutely hate bugs! Seeing one that big, in our living room, really freaked us out. There has been a new rule added to the apartment. No leaving the door open for more than 3 seconds! =P LOL.. Who knows what will jump in next!

Just Mayhem..

This week was so intense! Between long trips, writing papers, homework, studying, and organizing the apartment, I barely had time to breathe! To put it lightly, I’m exhausted. This past week was so busy.. I had due dates up to my neck. In the apartment, the girls and I were all on edge. Classes are really starting to pick up and more work needs to get done. It was pretty silent all week, while everyone was in their own space trying to get their work done. Stressed and tired, hardly any words were exchanged. And when they were, attitude came along with them. Everyone reacts differently to being stressed. Some are worse than others…We all usually eat dinner together every night, but not this week. This week we had to fend for ourselves.
Mood swings + stress = a bad combination! The four of us get along really well. We never fight, argue or have any problems like that. However, no one wanted to be near or around each other. We all kind of spread out and kept to ourselves. Once Wednesday had finally come along, a little bit of the stress was gone because we had made it through half the week. We were all dying for Friday to come, so we could all breathe again. Two days later when Friday hit, smiles were everywhere. We all had dinner together that night, and talked about how crazy we all had been acting. We learn new things about each other as days pass, and we certainly learned a lot that week! Possible meditation tactics should be done, to calm one of my roommates down… LOL.

Caught in the Rain..

So I don’t know what it is about my roommate Krissi, and her bad luck with the shuttle, but she seems to be having a lot of it! The other day, she left the apartment in hopes that she would catch the shuttle and make it to class on time. Little did she know, it was not her day. The line for the shuttle was enormous, and to add to it, it was pouring rain outside! The shuttle finally made its way to the stop, and when the doors opened, the driver said that she can only take a certain amount of people. Of course, she didn’t make it onto the shuttle, so she ran back to the apartment to get her keys and drive to campus. On the way there, she saw Sam walking to the shuttle and asked her if she wanted a ride. Sam said “yes” and Krissi continued to run to the apartment. As they made their way to the car, they saw another shuttle coming, so they ran from the parking lot to the shuttle stop; cut the whole line and got on the shuttle! LOL.. By this time Krissi was soaking wet and had to go to class like that! She had some time before class started, so she went to the bathroom and used the hand dryers as a body dryer! She managed to dry her shirt a little, and walked in her squeaky wet shoes to class. When they got back from class, Courtney and I heard about their adventure and couldn’t help but laugh at them!
